Jean has worked as London Support Coordinator since 2013.
Prior to working with the Behçet’s Team she has worked in various hospitals and day centres here in the UK and, back “home” in America, setting up therapeutic activities and groups for both the patients and families she has worked with. She has a Master’s Degree from New York University in Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure studies, and has a keen interest in empowering the lives of our patients, through social, recreational and leisure pursuits.
Jean enjoys a bit of running, yoga and cycling and was part of the “Tour de Behçet’s 2014” which helped to raise money and awareness for Behçet’s UK.

Rebecca has worked as Birmingham Support Coordinator since March 2015.
She previously worked for Onside Independent Advocacy in mentoring and employment support for adults with mental ill-health, and ran a range of CBT-based MoodMaster wellbeing groups. Before that, Rebecca qualified as a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, working predominantly with young people.
Rebecca’s special interests include autism, food and wellbeing.

Jackie has worked as the Liverpool Support Coordinator since August 2014.
Before that, she worked in various nursing roles including midwife, district nurse and Macmillan clinical nurse specialist. This is her first non-nursing role, but she uses many of the skills she has acquired over the past four decades.
Jackie’s specific interests are in working with patients to self-manage the non-medical aspects of their condition and helping them to identify and maximise their life opportunities.

The Behçet’s Support Coordinators are happy to give general advice to all patients with a confirmed or probable diagnosis of Behçet’s but can only provide detailed non-medical support for those patients who attend one of the three Centres of Excellence.
